We report on life throughout the State of Florida, on issues that we feel are topical and relevant, some on business and some on life and events, some perhaps just to make you smile. All with just the British spin that you might not see elsewhere.

The Official British Expat magazine of Florida - online, every other month we deliver news from Her Majesty's Consul General, Kevin McGurgan, business, lifestyle, sports and whatever else we find of interest through-out the State.

Remember remember the 5th of November

Not only touted as the Biggest British Event in Florida but easily the biggest Guy Fawkes celebration outside Great Britain. Our annual family event every November 5th attracts 3000+ attendees from all over Florida. It boasts the biggest bonfire in Central Florida, the best selection of British foods, British music, games, rides and a huge fireworks display.

"AMAZING, BRILLIANT, STUNNING, FANTASTIC, SUPERB and the BEST EVER. It was so good it was like being back at Guy Fawkes night back in the UK."
Carol Anne Dudley

Guy Fawkes Day dates back to the failed 1605 attempt by a group of Conspirators (among them Guy Fawkes) to assassinate King James I of England and blow up the Houses of Parliament.

Today, Guy Fawkes Day — also known as Bonfire Night — is marked across the United Kingdom by celebrations. To foot the bill for the traditional fireworks, children roam the streets in the days leading up to the event, brandishing their effigies — known as "Guys" — and ask passers-by for a "penny for the guy.

For 400 years, bonfires have burned on November 5th to mark the failed Gunpowder Plot... Now we are bringing "Bonfire Night" to the heart of Kissimmee, Florida for a wonderful family evening!
